We brought our family here for dinner and had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was excellent. Everything we ordered was full of flavor and beautifully presented. Highly recommend the salted egg yolk tofu — it was our favorite dish of the night! We’ll definitely come back again and recommend this place for a great family meal.

This new modern authentically decorated Asian restaurant opened 2 weeks ago. There is seating upstairs and downstairs, it has a bar and an open view kitchen. The seating is very comfortable, with most tables having booth style seating on one or both sides. I was welcomed in and given 3 menus, drinks, food and dumplings. The food menu is quite substantial with many choices across a variety of categories, mostly made up of authentic modern Chinese food. The pricing is all over the place and varies quite considerably from low to medium to extremely high on certain items. As an example; On the menu I seen a dish of only broccoli @ $24 and a vegetable omelette @$29, which I found both extremely high for what they were, but mains/ meat dishes were reasonable starting from $20-$28 and entrees from $9 upwards. Seafood and specialties from $31 -$50 and upwards/ market pricing. Oysters are $10-$13 each but the minimum order must be of 4 oysters or more ( which again I found extremely high priced) Desserts from $9-$11 The pricing just didn’t make any sense. After ordering a section of various food and drinks, the drinks came immediately and the food was all on the table together within 15 minutes. Table water was supplied but wasn’t cold. Every dish was hot, fresh and very tasty. Everything had good flavour, was good quality, presented well and the dishes all had a good array of vegetables and plenty of meat in them. The satay was the not the saucy kind, but it was one of the best flavoured ones I’ve had on the coast and I enjoyed it very much. The salt and pepper tofu was hot crispy and delicious. The beef and black bean was also very good. The service was good and very attentive but I found a few of the staff had some issues communicating. The menus books were beautifully prepared and decorated but all had many spelling mistakes which I found a little unprofessional. All dishes, cutlery, plates, cups, chopsticks etc are all melamine, even though they don’t look it. There was mixed music playing, mostly modern plain instrumental which was playing at a good level, it was quite relaxing and enjoyable. The restaurant Is family friendly and high chairs are available. ( I think I seen a kids menu ) Would I return.. yes. Would I recommend.. yes. Overall it was an enjoyable dining experience. ( the menu here is extremely similar to another ( non named ) restaurant only 50 or so metres away.. which I frequent regularly..or used to, but I found the food at Shanghai lane is much better quality and tastier than the above "non” mentioned )

Hands down the BEST chinese food I’ve had for a long time. The pan fried dumplings slay and the rainbow beef is the best we’ve ever had. Deep fried ice cream is also a personal fave. Lovely staff, quick service! 10/10!!!

We had dinner at the new retaurant at Westfield called 'Shanghai Lane Tuggerah by Lee's Kitchen'. The decor and atmosphere is quite modern and reminiscent of the former great restaurants of Chinatown like the New Tai Yuen and Nine Dragons. The food was very much authentic chinese cuisine and not 'westernised' as is the case in many restaurants these days. Great staff, service and food.
